Fun Things To Do in Valencia, Spain

Valencia, as well as Spain itself, just loves to cater to children and families. There are many different fun and exciting things to do in this city, from the botanical gardens of Valencia Jardi Botanic, just outside the old walls of the city. Surrounded by mature trees, and plenty of different species of plant life, it is filled with fountains, ponds, and places to sit. You can and enjoy a little peace and quiet while the kids are visiting with the colony of cats that call the botanical gardens their home. This cats are well cared for by the park keepers, and are content.

There is the City of Arts and Sciences, designed by a native of Valencia and considered one of the world's hottest architects, Santiago Calatrava. There are many attractions this area has to offer children and families. There is a museum complex, an aquarium, an arena, as well as many different parks, all in one convenient location. You have the Merrcado Central, or Central Market, with many interesting architectural buildings, a street market with many different venders and street performances.

One of the things about traveling as a family is trying to find ways to save money. You are constantly having to decide what are the most inexpensive activities, but ones that are entertaining as well. Some of the biggest things that can sap a family's budgets are where to stay, and food. Hotels are expensive even if you stay at a budget one, and if they say that kids eat free, there can be limitations, like age limits, and what kinds of meals are served. So you still have to worry about feeding yourself and the kids, and even fast food restaurants are much more than at home.

Then there are other problems that arise when vacationing with the family. No matter how full your itinerary is, there is still down time. Hotel rooms can be cramped and crowded, with little or no privacy. You either have to go to bed when the kids do, or let them stay up till you are ready to go to bed. You also have to fight with them for the bathroom, and there is no way you can sleep without some kind of clothing on.

There is a way to change all of this however, one that takes care of many different problems at the same time. This is to rent a holiday apartment instead of a hotel. There are many advantages to these accommodations. Two of the biggest are food, and lodging. With a Valencia holiday apartment, you rent it by the week, or month instead of nightly. If say you rent an apartment for a week, and depending on size costs you a thousand Euros, it could save you a thousand or more over nightly charges. Then there are meals. With a holiday apartment or villa, they come with full kitchen facilities, and all you have to do is buy food, and cook. Some of them even have cooking staff available, to cook and clean for you. You also have privacy, with many different options for real bedrooms, and even extra bathrooms.
