Europe City Guides

Have you ever considered taking a tour of European Cities? Whether you decide to go for a whirlwind tour or opt to stagger your visits over several vacations, there is so much to see. You are bound to be so engrossed throughout the tour that the only thing you will be missing is time.

Take Amsterdam Netherlands for instance. Aside from its world renowned liberal culture, Amsterdam is the only place in the world that you will have opportunity to visit a Museum entirely dedicated to Marijuana and Hemp!

You will also realize that there is more to Barcelona, Spain than just one of best football clubs in the world. Of course, the popularity of the football club does make the city's stadium one of the places you must see when you visit this city.

While still in Spain, you just have to drop by Sevilla. It is one of the few cities in the world that have within its limits, fantastic Mosques from the Arabic reign and the churches built after the city changed hands to the Crusaders from the north.

You can wind up your tour of Spain with a visit to the country's third largest city: Valencia. Sitting at the centre of Spain's Mediterranean coastline, you will be enchanted in equal but unique measure by the ancient architectural masterpiece that is Valencia Plaza de la Virgen and the modern Palau de les Arts and L'hemisferic.

Another important city in the Greater Iberia region is Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal. It has a history of more than 2000 years during which it changed hands from the various rulers of the area at the time. The city's buildings stand as irrefutable testimony to the reign of the Romans, the Moors and the Portuguese themselves.

Then there is Rome Italy. No discussion on European travel, European history and even the history of civilization can be complete without the inclusion of this great city. Often referred to as the Eternal City, of the hundreds of sites to see, there is one place you must visit when you go to Rome: the Coliseum.

As you move out of great Rome and onward to Eastern Europe, what better place to make the transition from Western to Eastern Europe than Berlin Germany, the home of the famous Berlin Wall? While there, check out the Museum sinsel Berlin, the Jewish Museum and Checkpoint Charlie. There must be a reason why these three sites represent some of the most photographed sites in the city.

Then there is the ‘city of a hundred spires': Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Few cities in Europe have as many medieval buildings in such a small area. Of these, you cannot afford not to visit Prague Castle; you will get one of the best peaks into how the European kings of the Middle Ages lived.

In Budapest Hungary, the gothic Parliament buildings, Castle Hill, Saint Stephen's Basilica and the Matthias Church represent some of the best classical architecture that this city has to offer its visitors.

Moving north to the Scandinavian region, pass through Copenhagen Denmark where you will be pleasantly surprised by the fairly warmer weather than you would expect of a city at such a high latitude north. Still in the Nordic countries is Stockholm Sweden, the Venice of the north. Sitting on 14 islands, there is good reason why this metropolis receives more than 1 million visitors each year.  Finally, check out the capital city of Norway: Oslo. You will realize there is more to it than just the home of the Nobel Prize.

To crown your tour of Europe, why not take a detour to the South American city of Bogota, Colombia? It would provide a most fitting climax. Unfortunately, there is often a lot of negative news that does the rounds on the Colombia and this makes cocaine and drug gangs the first thing that comes to mind. However, the city of Bogota is a true convergence of the classical architecture that is the buildings of yesteryears to the aura of modernity demonstrated by the modern office blocks.
